02.16.06 (11:02 am) [edit]
But first (Ala Steven) last nights workout.
So even though I ate a regular 5-way chili and half the cheese fries I did manage to get in a run. It was super late but I just sucked it up and went out into the night. I had intentions of doing a track workout so my husband and I hopped in the car and headed over to the high school track. Well they have that place on serious lock down, so I guess I won't be doing any local track workouts in our new hood.
So that drive was a waste and we headed back to the house. I decided to get in a fartlek workout around the neighborhood. I didn't want to go too far because it was really late and I am in general not trusting of people out and about that late at night. So I stayed within a few miles of our place. I ran out several blocks then did hard up each street and easy back down each one until I got back to our place. Ended up being 8 sets of hard/easy (approximately 2:20/2:50, I added the main street curb to the next street as hard so that I wouldn't be spending quite as much time on the easy). Total mileage 5.8ish average pace 8:49.
When I started the run I noticed the skyline and thought to myself, when I was young that would have really bothered me, but I am older and tougher now and that is one of the major differences between me and that young runner, assuming that it wouldn't bother me much longer. Well it didn't hurt the run, but it definitely didn't help it. It was noticeable the whole way.
I felt good and I was loving the new shoes. The 3rd and 4th fartleks I felt stronger than the ones before so that is good. I am guessing each hard stretch was about .31 miles and each easy was about .27 give or take.
Now as you already know I went on a small shopping spree last weekend. Well our dryer has been on the fritz. My husband finally tried to fix it for me and replaced the igniter. The ex-owner said he had to replace that a few times and that was probably our problem, since the drum was running, we just weren't getting any heat. Well David calls me after picking up the part and replacing it to inform me that he replaced the part and turned the dryer on and that sparks came flying out and now the dryer won't work at all. (I know I said exploding appliances, well my husband said sparks, I heard exploding, you know how that goes)
So last night we decided to go dryer shopping. Before going I wanted to be sure this wasn't a problem we could fix easily ourselves. I did some Internet research and checked it out. Well David had blown a fuse when the dryer sparked so I flipped the breaker and the drum was working again. I turned the dryer off and on a few times and then I also got the spark effect. A little scary considering it is a gas dryer. (Light bulb went on at this point and I turned the gas line to the dryer off) The coils weren't lighting up at all except for that spark I got. I am not extremely handy so I gave up. We knew we wanted a new dryer soon anyways; we were just living with the current one because it came with the house.
So we met up at Sears and picked out a new Kenmore dryer. Nothing fancy, but it has a moisture sensor and a 7.0 cu ft drum. Plus they are going to install it with a new gas line and venting and haul away our old one. Pretty sweet.
After purchasing the dryer we headed over to Second Sole where I picked up my new Wave Riders and my husband got some running shoes to start working out with me. He stuck with Saucony. They look pretty sweet too, but not as cool as mine ;)
By the way I am only so excited about these shoes because normally I never worry about shoe style. I get what fits and what feels good and usually they aren't cute at all. So I am super geeked that these new shoes actually look a bit trendy and they go with all my red Boston gear! Score!
So between the intimates, jeans, dryer, running shoes I have dropped a lot of cash this past week. Looks like that treadmill may have to go on the back burner.
My husband and I are going to start walk/jogging together at least 3 times a week. This is a good way to spend some quality time and also keep in shape. I have made the decision that this is more important than my training and if I can't squeeze in both this will be my priority. I am trying to find some balance between my old psychotic workout schedule and a new one that will leave me more time for my other fave activities and my fave people.
Next on tap all about my other geeky hobbies I partook in last weekend!

Do these shoes make my feet look fat?
11.04.05 (10:27 am) [edit]
Sorry, just staring at my feet. My Asics were muddy from this mornings trail run and my Brooks were out in the car so I opted for my old Saucony's (Grid Hurricane's) this morning on my way to work.
How on earth did I use to run in these things? These shoes are so bulky! It is no wonder I took 12 minutes off my marathon time, these shoes alone would have added that much! ;)
Can a 120 lb chick really need that much shoe? Obviously not since my feet seem to be pretty content in my Brooks which are much more slimming. ;)
I guess I may have liked these because of the support (I wore grid hurricane's throughout college), I do notice that I can't go very long in my new racing flats without my ankle bothering me, too much pronation.
Got out onto the trails this morning before work. It is warm out! 55 and climbing. It was really windy but the trees blocked most of the gusts, and anything I did feel was warm. Is it really November?
The trail was gorgeous this morning! Yellow leaves everywhere. I saw a buck run by at one point. Tried to grab a pic but he was too quick for me. I am so glad I found my mini cam. The images aren't great but it is fun to take photos while running.
Did my regular N. C. route on the Bridle Trails. Somewhere around 4.5 miles in 38 minutes (I did walk about 50 ft up the killer hill by the castle) I was beat! But I recovered, took a pic, then headed up the third tier of the hill!
I want to know how Wil gets such fantastic photos of herself during training. I mean seriously, do you have a professional running photographer chasing you around? I am way jealous!

Not Perfect
10.28.05 (1:24 pm) [edit]

But it will have to do...
Warning: Do not attempt to throw together a perfect costume in a 20 minute run through JCPenney's. You WILL NOT succeed.

Note: No orange knee highs Note: Skirt is not red Note: Shoes are not Red (Found perfect shoes but for $40 I just couldn't do it) Note: Glasses are not big enough Note: Hair is red, not brown. (But I will not give in to bangs with my real do!) Note: Sweater is more of a peach than orange. Meh.
Can you even guess who I am supposed to be?
Tomorrow night should be better when I have hubby and props in tow.

The Feline in All of Us
10.12.05 (11:21 am) [edit]
You are a TIGER! You are the biggest of all cats and the strongest. You possess leadership qualities. Tigers are capable of swimming very well, unlike most other big cats. Most of the time you win your fights or arguments but because you are strong physically and mentally, it's difficult to point out your weaknesses and enemies. You are very responsible and keep up with your duties/chores and look after your friends and family.
Which FELINE are you? brought to you by Quizilla
I would have to say this quiz was 97% on the money except I am obviously a White Tiger! Thanks to FelineVamp for the quiz.
Last night I found myself seriously doubting, well, myself. Specifically wondering what I am thinking in regards to Columbus. I mean who the heck am I to think that I am going to go and PR by 10-20 minutes. I mean really?
In all seriousness I know that my goals are reasonable and that my legs should be capable of finishing Columbus in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes. But Su's Chicago experience has left me feeling a bit worried. I mean she was just as prepared (if not more so) than I am now. Why didn't she reach her goal?
It just goes to show that on any given day I could make it or I couldn't.
So to prepare this head of mine the next few days I really need to focus on the positives.
When I was younger and running 5k's for high school cross country my mom would always tell me to use visualization. Specifically to imagine running beside a white tiger (you were wondering how the intro was going to fit in to the post right?) and to get power from that.
When I was 18 I went and got myself a white tiger tattoo on my back so that I no longer had to imagine it, I could actually have my white tiger right there with me running at all times and watching over me. I am sure that I do get power from my inner white tiger. I was made aware of the outer power I draw from it too in Boston. Somewhere around 13.1 miles (at this point I was already in a lot of pain and starting to run water stop to water stop, yikes) I heard a guy shout "hey we must be brother and sister" :) I looked at him to see he had a very nice white tiger tat on his leg. I found that the small bond we shared between our tattoos and our obvious love of the same animal gave me a little boost I wouldn't have had otherwise.
So the next few days I will be thinking about my inner tigress and drawing positive steam from her. Repeat after me "I am strong, I am tough, I will break 3:30!" And hopefully these little legs of mine will hold out for a great race!
I found I was also looking for some other outside inspiration and found some great new blogs about running etc. Links are added at the left check them out! There are some great recounts of races as well as good entries about everyday training!

Tuesdays=Track
10.12.05 (8:43 am) [edit]
Well most Tuesday's that is. I wasn't going to post tonight, not really in the mood but I decided to write up something short.
We went to the tow path tonight since most are either out of town, busy, injured, or tapering this week. But we got in an easy 6.5 miles in about 55 minutes. Not very fast and I didn't feel very good. Oh well. I didn't have a large lunch and I always feel weird taper week.
Went to Hoggy's afterwards and I ate a lot! Which probably means I really needed some more energy. I have to eat better this week for sure.
I am off to shower then bed. I need to get to bed early this week and get used to waking up early for Sunday.

09.20.05 (5:00 pm) [edit]
Blogger just ate my well thought out and brilliant post ;) Seriously though I left Tblog because of this same issue. Uggh.
My legs ache, like I ran a good track workout. I like it. It is an ache I understand. It is comforting. I am a freak I know.
Long marathon track workout tonight 7.5 miles total:
mile warm up 9.02.54 400 pace 1.40.24 400 jog 2.44.51 800 pace 3.19.10 400 jog 3.05.23 1200 pace 4.59.85 400 jog 3.29.40 1600 pace 6.31.91 400 jog 3.45.47 1200 pace 4.56.45 400 jog 3.41.72 800 pace 3.09.74 400 jog 3.31.74 400 pace 1.22.18 (I wanted under 80 on this phooey) mile cool down 9.15.71
Other than not breaking 80 on the last quarter I had a great workout. I was aiming for 6:30 on the mile and slightly slower than that pace before and slightly faster after so I was consistent. And it felt really comfortable so that is good!

Finally
09.05.05 (3:05 am) [edit]
Hmm my new blog isn't working, thats a riot since I left here because usually tblog was never up when I wanted to blog.
This years Chicago trip was a blast. We had a great group of people. The weather was perfect for it. Couldn’t ask for much more.
I was on a tight budget but managed to get my mentees goody bags and all my meals to fit into it! (With some left over, woohoo) The expo was a lot of fun; I got several free water bottles! (Too bad I left the nicest two on a shuttle after the race, oh well they were free)
We actually swam Friday afternoon after flying in this year. The water was around 72 degrees. It felt much warmer than last year. Since I was on my own this year I just did my own thing after the swim. I went to the expo, got my race packet, got my shoulders rubbed out by The Stick guys. Dang pinched nerve from Boston came back.
After the expo we headed out for dinner. I think we went to the same restaurant that I got breakfast last year. Dinner and the company were great.
We had to wake up super early Saturday because we were the first to unload bikes. It was a long walk over there but after that we were on bikes so the way back was quick. We rode the 10k run course and checked out transition as a group.
After that we headed back to the hotel. On the way back I practiced getting in and out of my shoes while on the bike. Surprisingly I figured it out and managed to get in and out several times successfully on the way back.
I roomed with N (TNT Staff) and she was forced to book a few rooms as executive so we were allowed on the executive floor. So I went and got free breakfast with D. Lot’s of fresh fruit and bagels!
After breakfast we headed to the expo and listened to the course talk. Only difference this year was that there would be no water exchange on the bike course.
The pasta party this year was great. Our group took up three tables. A had a ton of family come in. I think everyone on the team had at least one person there to cheer them on. V. awesome.
This year the TNT participants for the Chicago Tri raise just over $1 million dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. V. impressive! To date TNT has raised over $600 million. Our Ohio team raised over $46,000!!! Basically for every mile swam, biked, or run the Chicago Triathlon raised $31,000!
My legs had been achy all weekend so after the pasta party I ran (literally) over to Walgreen’s to get some Band-Aids and athletic tape (my blister from the previous track workout was infected and painful!), picked up some Pam for anyone who wanted it the next morning and ran back to the hotel. Did my usual prerace set up. Sat everything out for the next morning then went to bed.
We had to be over to transition really early so I was up at 4:30 and headed that way by 4:45. A was in my same wave so we set up our transitions together. Headed back to the hotel to eat some breakfast and chill until the race.
My wave went off at 8:16 this year, which was nice. Last year I think I went off around 9.
The race this year was great once again. I had a good swim, 25:30 out of the water. The water this year was pancake flat and you could actually see! My transitions went really well, I didn’t crash while getting my shoes on and off on the bike! I only saw a few women pass me on the bike this year, and most of them were on their first lap as I was going into my second. The wind wasn’t too bad this year and the new aerobars made a huge difference I think. I felt really comfortable and was averaging 19.5 mph.
The run was a little warm this year, but I still managed to hold 7:35 pace. My first split was under 7 again, same as last year. Coach K says this means I didn’t go hard enough on the bike. I only saw one girl out on the run, she was in my wave and I passed her around mile 5. Other than that it was just me and a bunch of men. So I guess that is the disadvantage of the early wave start. I actually liked the crowded run course last year.
I was the first one in from our group so after I finished I headed back to cheer everyone on. Everyone did a great job! I was very proud.
This year bikes had to be taken back pretty much right after the race so I didn’t get a nap before the Victory Party and was feeling pretty zombieish. But the music livened me up and I managed to dance the whole evening anyways!
The lady and her daughter’s who had left such and impression on me last year were there again. The mother was actually the motivational speaker this year. Luckily her daughter (Madeline) is doing fine! She is finishing Chemo and has long curly hair now! Her sister danced with me until the party was over announcing “I think they are kicking us out!” kids are so wonderful. I found out they are not actually twins, they just look a lot alike, Madeline is older. I talked with Kariann (Madeline’s mother) and told her that her daughter was the reason I stayed with TNT. She was such a sweet lady, and once again did the tri but managed to find the strength to dance with her daughters, even using them to play “air guitar.” I can’t imagine how exhausting that would be but the girls loved it!
D and I had a drink at the hotel bar after the party. After that we were pretty beat, so we headed to bed.
So I had a great time once again and I am getting super pumped about Columbus now. TNT is such a wonderful program. There really isn’t anything like it.

Last Weekends workouts
07.12.05 (5:04 pm) [edit]
This past Wednesday Chicago TNT team went out to Columbia Park and swam in Lake Erie. Saw a few dead fish...Cut open my toe and am grateful I don't have a third limb sprouting!
The swim was fun but very choppy!
We had a great picnic afterwards! This group has been a blast. Can't wait to see how everyone does in Chicago!
Thursday night went down to N. R. for a bike ride with the fab five. The boys ended up splitting and I rode with S and A. We rode just shy of 17 miles in an little over an hour. Probably wouldnt have taken so long but I took a spill about 4 miles in. Luckily I didn't hurt myself too bad but I did manage to jack my bikes right handlebar up. Luckily it was an easy fix. I am still taking it into the shop today to make sure everything is okay though.
I sucked on the hill! Got down to around 5.6 mph. (according to my computer which also may have been off due to the fall)
Friday morning I got up for morning swim! Amazing! We had a good workout. Here is the run down as I remember it. Around 1350 meters total.
200 warm up stroke counting 2*50 10, 9.5, 9, 9 50 kick, 50 pull, 50 swim 2*50 roll with one arm at side 50 arm roll/scull hand out 50 with 5 tricep extensions 4* 50 with 4 tricep extensions in between 50 stroke counting 9.5 and 9.5 50 catchup/breast 50 catch up/ back 3* 100 (1:35) relay 150 (3*50) Tigers Win by a "water"slide?
Saturday morning I got down to Peninsula and ran with SERC and A and S. I was out on the Buckeye trail for 2 hours and 20 minutes. It was a good run with a few hills but mostly rollers. It was HOT! But the shade on the trails kept it from being horrible. I felt a lot better this Saturday than last and didn't get lost this time!
After breakfast A and I took our bikes in for the 90 day checkup. I had my "oh-shit" brakes removed. I am going to buy B's aerobars from him so I needed room for them!
Sunday morning S and I woke up around 4:30 and headed to Lorain for a tri. We ended up bailing because our cyclist was having a bad morning. But we stayed and cheered on one of my Chicago Mentees and hung out with Coach K. We were both a little cranky by the time we got home but P made us pancakes and coffee :) Thanks!!!
Last night was the run workshop for Chicago Tri peeps. I picked up my bike on the way and also got some new bike shorts and a cycling tank. We met at H.L. for the workshop. Did a quick run down on tri running. Then we did a mini brick workout around the lake. Got in a 45 minutes ~9 mile on the bike and a 30 minute ~3 mile run.

4th of July Weekend Workouts
07.12.05 (5:01 pm) [edit]
|
I was able to get in some fabulous hikes with over the 4th of July weekend while camping. It was nice to just get out into nature with no real purpose. On top of the hiking I got in two long trail runs (110 minutes and 70 minutes!) this weekend which were pretty brutal but most likely good for me. Also got in swom swimming in Millstone Creek.

So the results are online and I didn't really take 1st in my age group. They must have screwed something up on race day. I actually came in 2nd in my age group, 3rd if you count the girl that took second overall. Oh well! (I could have sworn there was a 23 year old in front of me so that explains my confusion, hope she wasn't too upset about not getting her trophy) I actually came in 8th overall out of 58.
They screwed up some other awards too so some weird things must have been going on.

It finally rained a bit so it wasn't unbearably hot tonight. A finally came to the track so I had an equal partner in crime!
She got there a little late so I warmed up 1 mile with everyone else, then A and I did the first set as her warm up. I didn't want to push it too much anyways because I raced on Sunday and my hamstring is just starting to feel normal again.
So here is the run down.
1 mile easy warm up 800 medium 3:38 400 medium 1:47 400 medium 1:51 800 hard 3:11 400 hard 1:28 400 hard 1:28 8*200 hard 46.89, 46.95, 46.45, 48.09, 47.98, 45.81, 44.85, 41.12 1 mile cool down easy

Stow Triathlon
06.26.05 (3:11 pm) [edit]
I got out yesterday for a short solo run. 26 minutes easy. It was incredibly hot and even though I wasn't running hard I was pretty much drenched in sweat. YUCK!
A bunch of Team in Training triathletes came out today to race in the spring "kickoff." It is a fun little race, very laid back! The swim course is a short one at 500 meters and the run and bike are relatively flat.
I had an okay swim this morning, not as fast as I had hoped for. I would have liked to swim 7 or under but ended up with 9:06 on the swim, about a minute slower than last year.
Transition wasn't great but not horrible at 2:30.
I had a good bike ride and only got passed by about 3 women. Of course I only passed 1 or 2 so I pretty much stayed even from the swim through the bike. A and S were right behind me in T1 and throughout the bike ride but I sneaked in to T2 just ahead. The bike course was just shy of 12 miles and it took me 37:24.
I was in T2 for 1:16 and then it was on to the run!
At this point it was pretty hot. I dumped a small bit of water over my head and started trying to catch a few women just ahead of me. I took down 2 or 3 women right away on the run then pretty much stayed even the rest of the way. I got passed by a 41 year old woman towards the finish but didn't feel up to racing her in. My legs felt like CRAP! But I ran pretty well considering the heat and ground conditions. The majority of the run is on gravel.
Splits on the run were 7:19.47, 7:16.91, and 8:14.91 for the last 1.1 miles. So probably about 45 seconds on the .1 and 7:30 for the last mile.
Total time was 1:13:07. 8 minutes faster than last year. Mostly due to the bike but I had a really good run today as well.
There were definitely some more competitive athletes out there this year. As last year my time would have gotten me 3rd overall. This year it was good enough for 1st in my age group and around 6th-8th overall.
I went sans socks and gloves today. The lack of gloves on the bike didn't bother me, but I got some nice blisters from wearing no socks. I suppose it wouldn't have been so bad if I would have thought to put body glide on my feet.
Everyone from TNT did great! I think they all enjoyed their first tri experience!

Finally got my butt out of bed and excercised this week :)
Went to the pool workout this morning and had a great workout coached by B.
The indoor pool is closed for the summer so we were actually swimming in a 25 meter pool as opposed to the 25 yards indoors.
Here is the workout as far as I can remember it.
200 m warm up 50 catch up drill 50 kick 50 kick with board 50 catch up- focus on scull and reach 50 catch up- focus on rolling shoulders 50 slow arm recovery 25 head down 25 fingertip drill 50 swim 3*50 easy, medium, hard 3*100 on 2 minute send off ladder 200 medium, 100 harder, 50 hard, 25 all out, 25 easy (back)
Total around 1450 meters

Went out yesterday and rode for 45 minutes in my hometown. Didn't get up in time to ride the whole metroparks trail like I wanted to, but I still had a nice quick ride. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. If it wasn't for the mosquitos it could have been perfect ;)

Biking Metro Mountains
06.17.05 (12:32 pm) [edit]
Went out last night with B, S, and CK. We rode bikes in N. Royalton and took a different route than usual. It was pretty fun and our quads got a good workout on the small metro mountains.
The downhills were definitely fun! Got up to 39 mph! Of course it doesn't last too long before you are going back up, got down as slow as 6mph ;) We ended up riding around 16 miles in a little over an hour.
Afterwards we had a FABULOUS meal made by CK with some help from S. My hubby made it out so we had most of the gang there. After dinner we played a killer game of "Masterpiece" :) Which I won of course ;) Which is odd because I totally can not put on a good "poker face"
Meant to swim this morning but woke up late to find I had set the alarm for 5pm instead of am :/ Oh well. I will have to work that much harder next swim!
Tomorrow is the strawberry run and I have a 3 hour drive ahead of me tonight. Wish me luck! My very unrealistic goal is to run the race in just shy of 32:30, likelihood very low. But I would be happy to run it between 34 and 35. Hopefully my hamstring and the weather are good to me!

Early Morning Run
06.15.05 (5:25 pm) [edit]
Went out this morning with the SERC gals and AB. Got in 7 miles starting at 5:30 AM!!! My goodness that is early!
It was already humid out but there was a nice breeze the last few miles. Which is good because it takes your mind off the rolling hills.
My right ham didn't feel too bad during the run. It is a little sore tonight so I am going to do some stretching and ice.
We were running around 9 minutes miles this morning and that felt pretty good. I am finally starting to get back into some sort of running regimen. Now I just need to bring the swimming and cycling along!

Track Workout 6-14-05
06.15.05 (5:20 pm) [edit]
Had another so-so track workout last night. Definitely not going into this weekend as speedy as I had hoped for. But the weather has cooled off a lot since last night so there is still some hope ;)
Did a mile warm up with B and M and probably went a little too quick for a warm up
Then we did 2 sets of 800, 600, 400 then an 800 and a 4*400 relay
Ended with a slow one mile cool down. I forgot to bring gatorade and ended up with a horrible side stitch during the cool down.
A few of the TNT marathoners came out so I had some more ladies to run with. Once I get my head in gear hopefully having some speedier women around will help :)
splits were as follows:
800-3:07 600-2:21 400-1:33 800-3:14 600-2:27 400-1:35 800-3:29 400-1:26

Had two TNT workouts this weekend. Yesterday we had a group tri team bike ride in Mill Stream Run. I ended up riding around 18 miles with S. We had fun and attacked some hills. It was a little warm for my tastes but the ride was still good. I felt like I could ride a lot more when I got done so that is good.
Today we had a group marathon run. I ended up doing a little over 8 miles. It was VERY HUMID! I was drenched by the time I finished. I ran a little faster today which is a good sign.
One more track workout before my hometown 8k. Let's hope I can get my speed on ASAP!

Been awhile since updating.
Tuesday night I went to the track as usual. Did not do anywhere close to as well as last week. We did 3 miles of intervals, 1 mile, 2* 800, then 4* 400. I did all right on the first mile but the rest was pretty crappy. Hopefully it is just the heat that is slowing me down.
Thursday night my hubby and I went and walked at N. Chagrin. It was warm but not too bad.
Last night was Relay For Life and I ended up taking the 8pm shift since A couldn't come. It was HOT! and Humid! But I ran for an hour and fifteen minutes and got in 8 slow miles around the track.
The 8pm slot was the WORST slot to pick! The entertainment for that hour was a duet singing bad campy style tunes with the words replaced following through a persons life. It was HORRIBLE!!!
Let's just put it this way: one of the songs consisted of "Nip a little, Tuck a little, Nip a little, Tuck a little, snip snip snip, suck a lot, chop a little more" (repeat) Ugggh! The slots before and after mine had great music. Oh well :)
I am off to a TNT bike ride!

It is HOT out!

Just got back from my run with B. We are both nursing our right hamstrings. As usual we went way too fast :) We both have great fitness, just need to work on keeping healthy with no injuries.
We ran for 46 minutes and probably did just shy of 6 miles. I felt like absolute CRAP the first three miles. It is 92 degrees outside! I am NOT used to this heat yet!
My right hamstring feels Okay, still a little sore so I am off to ice and then tackle some cleaning. Then maybe some relaxation by the pool!

Had a small fundraising workshop for the Chicago Mentees today. Only two people were able to make it but we had a good discussion about our fundraising plans and did some brainstorming. Then we did an easy 2 mile run. It is getting HOT out! My hamstring felt fine since I was running very slowly.

I got my Marathon DVD from Boston today. It is awesome! They did a great job with the elite coverage as well as getting some individual shots of myself at the starting line, 10k, 15k, half, 30k, 40k, and finish.
Really a nice way to commemorate my first Boston, although a bit pricey :)

My Body is going on strike
05.31.05 (5:43 pm) [edit]
Went to the track tonight. I was having a great workout until the tail end. I even had some ladies to keep me company tonight which probably helped me to be faster than two weeks ago.
My hamstring was a little sore during the race on Sunday and it felt about the same tonight. Well the last set of 200s did it in. I couldn't even finish the workout. Which really blows.
It is frustrating to feel so good and be capable of running quick but then hurting yourself and not being able to run at all :(
Oh well this is probably my body saying Hello Freak I need a break! So I am going to take it easy for the rest of the week. Nothing fast. Lots of ice and lots of stretching.
Here is how the workout went until I crapped out:
mile warm up 1200: 4:48.06 600: 2:21.22 600: 2:19.64 400: 1:31.40 400: 1:30.91 400: 1:31.12 200: 43.58 200: 42.55 200: 43.87 half mile cool down
