This past Wednesday Chicago TNT team went out to Columbia Park and swam in Lake Erie. Saw a few dead fish...Cut open my toe and am grateful I don't have a third limb sprouting!
The swim was fun but very choppy!
We had a great picnic afterwards! This group has been a blast. Can't wait to see how everyone does in Chicago!
Thursday night went down to N. R. for a bike ride with the fab five. The boys ended up splitting and I rode with S and A. We rode just shy of 17 miles in an little over an hour. Probably wouldnt have taken so long but I took a spill about 4 miles in. Luckily I didn't hurt myself too bad but I did manage to jack my bikes right handlebar up. Luckily it was an easy fix. I am still taking it into the shop today to make sure everything is okay though.
I sucked on the hill! Got down to around 5.6 mph. (according to my computer which also may have been off due to the fall)
Friday morning I got up for morning swim! Amazing! We had a good workout. Here is the run down as I remember it. Around 1350 meters total.
200 warm up stroke counting 2*50 10, 9.5, 9, 9 50 kick, 50 pull, 50 swim 2*50 roll with one arm at side 50 arm roll/scull hand out 50 with 5 tricep extensions 4* 50 with 4 tricep extensions in between 50 stroke counting 9.5 and 9.5 50 catchup/breast 50 catch up/ back 3* 100 (1:35) relay 150 (3*50) Tigers Win by a "water"slide?
Saturday morning I got down to Peninsula and ran with SERC and A and S. I was out on the Buckeye trail for 2 hours and 20 minutes. It was a good run with a few hills but mostly rollers. It was HOT! But the shade on the trails kept it from being horrible. I felt a lot better this Saturday than last and didn't get lost this time!
After breakfast A and I took our bikes in for the 90 day checkup. I had my "oh-shit" brakes removed. I am going to buy B's aerobars from him so I needed room for them!
Sunday morning S and I woke up around 4:30 and headed to Lorain for a tri. We ended up bailing because our cyclist was having a bad morning. But we stayed and cheered on one of my Chicago Mentees and hung out with Coach K. We were both a little cranky by the time we got home but P made us pancakes and coffee :) Thanks!!!
Last night was the run workshop for Chicago Tri peeps. I picked up my bike on the way and also got some new bike shorts and a cycling tank. We met at H.L. for the workshop. Did a quick run down on tri running. Then we did a mini brick workout around the lake. Got in a 45 minutes ~9 mile on the bike and a 30 minute ~3 mile run.

| 4th of July Weekend Workouts |
| 07.12.05 (5:01 pm) [edit] |
|
I was able to get in some fabulous hikes with over the 4th of July weekend while camping. It was nice to just get out into nature with no real purpose. On top of the hiking I got in two long trail runs (110 minutes and 70 minutes!) this weekend which were pretty brutal but most likely good for me. Also got in swom swimming in Millstone Creek.
